SDO Imus benchmarks Batangas’ best
Division Information and Action Officer

Anchored on the conviction that there is learning through appreciation, emulation, reflection and corrective action, the Schools Division Office of Imus City benchmarked the “best” of SDO Batangas Province on Brigada Eskwela and the implementation of 7S.
Around 50 Imuseños, composed of SDO personnel and school heads, trooped to Batangas on January 22 and witnessed the impressive policies, standards and practices of Cepriana Ascue Memorial Elementary School (CAMES) and Balayan East Central School (BECS), both in the municipality of Balayan, and SDO Batangas, located at Batangas City.
Avelino Mortel, public schools district supervisor of Balayan East and West, who is also the 2017 Gawad Patnugot Outstanding PSDS, inspired SDO Imus City with his presentation of Project BEST or Brigada Eskwela Soaring on Top.
Mortel shared the journey of transformation of CAMES and BECS, the former which is the region’s two-time defending BE Best Implementer (Elementary-Medium Category) and qualifier for Hall of Fame; and the latter which already claimed the Hall of Fame award (Elementary-Mega Category) in 2017.
“Brigada Eskwela is an opportunity to implement School-based Management (SBM) and exercise your leadership…your influence, especially in tapping potential stakeholders. Why would they help you?” Mortel quipped.
He then urged Imuseño learning leaders to embrace the importance of “systematizing” the system and making a long term plan of winning—focusing more on quality and not on quantity.
“The name of the game is transformation. Glamorize all, not few. Give your 100% and always think of something very unique,” he said.
On behalf of OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Hermogenes M. Panganiban, the OIC-CID and OIC-SGOD chiefs in the persons of Dr. Glenda DS. Catadman and Gregorio A. Co Jr. expressed gratitude to SDO Batangas Province for the warm accommodation and worthwhile sharing.
Both said the experience will contribute meaningfully to the realization of SDO Imus City’s mantra of “One Vision. One Heart. One Direction. Sa serbisyong totoo at makatao, Bidang Imuseño ang panalo.”
