The Department of Education (DepEd)
kicked off its annual school maintenance week, Brigada Eskwela, in
various schools nationwide. Brigada brings together school
officials, parents, students, and private organizations in an effort
to clean and repair schools in time for enrollment the following
week and the start of classes on June 2.
Education Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC said, “Getting our
schools ready for the start of classes in June requires a lot of
manpower. Every Filipino can contribute in helping create clean and
resilient learning environments for our learners.
We aim to mainstream disaster preparedness & principles in
preparing our schools for the opening of classes, said Mario A.
