Local officials Grace 2nd Teachers Congress; SDS Cadavedo Presents Request Checklist
Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi, Coun. Eunice C. Ferriol and a representative of Cong. Alex “AA” Advincula praised the efforts of DepEd Imus City officials headed by Dr. Lualhati O. Cadavedo in uplifting the quality of education in the city during its 2nd Teachers Congress held on May 31.
All of them said they were impressed with the achievements of the students in different competitions, teacher seminars and innovations, and the installation of E-learning throughout the division.
Mayor Maliksi said he envisions DepEd Imus as number one in Cavite, boasting that Imus City currently holds the title as “Financial Capital” and “Retail Capital” of the province.
The city mayor also promised the teachers that the local government will continue supporting the DepEd’s programs and will increase the budget of the Special Education Fund as this will serve as an investment in producing future leaders of the nation.
“Madami pa tayong maa-achieve basta tayo ay magsasama-sama, magkakaisa at magtutulungan,” Maliksi said.
Dr. Cadavedo, meanwhile, presented a list of her requests and urged the teachers to continue doing the following:
- Report before official time.
- Attend the flag ceremony.
- Be courteous at all times.
- Wear proper uniform and ID.
- Master your craft.
- Show concern to colleagues.
- Always be positive.
- Lessen your complaints.
- Be just in making decisions.
- Have a big heart.
The acting schools division superintendent also underscored the need to support and realize the value of Transparent, Ethical and Accountable (TEA) governance, an advocacy of Region IV-A CALABARZON headed by Dr. Diosdado M. San Antonio, regional director.
